At Trillevallen’s Mountain Hotel, guests are greeted by an atmosphere characterized by an authentic mountain feel and welcoming hospitality. The hotel’s decor and service are carefully designed to create a cozy and genuine experience, making each visitor feel a part of the surrounding nature. Whether you’re here to ski, hike the beautiful summer trails, or simply relax and take in the magnificent views, Trillevallen is a place where memories are made and the soul finds peace.

Here, the pace is slower

Trillevallen is located in Jämtland, just 25 kilometers from Åre. The destination has a long history, as Trillevallen’s Mountain Hotel opened as early as 1939. Here, old guesthouse traditions coexist with all the modern amenities today’s guests expect. Right outside the door, the mountain world unfolds, offering nature experiences for all ages and interests, both during the snow-free season and when the landscape is covered in snow.

In winter, all skiing activities are centered around the mountain. Choose from alpine skiing, off-piste, well-groomed cross-country trails, and long touring routes. Skiing at Trillevallen is easy. They have their own ski system with eight lifts, 21 slopes, a slope restaurant, rental services, ski school, and a sports shop. Both beginners and more advanced skiers will find their favorite slopes, and there are plenty of runs in a day as there are never any lift queues. Downhill skiing is complemented by wonderful nature experiences on the mountain. You can simply put on your cross-country skis right outside the hotel and set off on the excellent cross-country trails or the scenic touring routes.

In summer, there are many miles of trails for running and hiking. Walk or jog over the open mountains and cloudberry-scented marshes, take a dip in a mountain lake, and quench your thirst in a babbling brook. In the surrounding area, there are also opportunities for canoeing and kayaking, fishing, or cycling on gravel roads.

Nature and the mountains are the focus during a stay in Trillevallen, but the hotel itself is worth a visit. Entering Trillevallen’s High Mountain Hotel is like stepping back into the 1940s, in an updated 2020s version. Renovations have been carried out with a gentle touch to preserve the genuine mountain atmosphere of the past. This is particularly evident in the high mountain hotel’s dining room, where an old-fashioned guesthouse ambiance prevails. Every morning, a generous mountain breakfast is served, and in the evening, a delicious dinner is offered, featuring dishes prepared mainly from Jämtland’s local ingredients. Before and after dinner, guests can relax in the comfortable sofas of the Vargrummet. Here, they enjoy a drink by the fire and reflect on the day’s experiences.
