Accommodation Trillevallen

The Mountain Hotel – Högfjällshotellet

Trillevallen’s Högfjällshotell is one of the few hotels in the mountains that can truly call itself a classic. The first winter guests arrived here as early as 1939. Many fine mountain traditions live on here, and the one we cherish most is hospitality. Stepping into Trillevallen’s Högfjällshotell is like traveling back to the 1940s, but with an updated 2020s twist.

With a careful touch, recent renovations have been made to preserve the genuine mountain feel of the past. This is especially evident in the dining room of the Högfjällshotell, where an old-fashioned guesthouse atmosphere prevails.

Every morning, a generous mountain breakfast is laid out, and in the evening, a delicious dinner is served, featuring dishes prepared primarily with local Jämtland ingredients. Before and after dinner, guests can relax in the Vargrummet’s comfortable sofas, enjoying a drink by the fire while reflecting on the day.

Just outside the door, the mountain world unfolds, offering nature experiences for all ages and interests, both during the snow-free season and when the expanses are covered in snow.

History, soul and heart

It All Started in 1939

Anyone who delves into Trillevallen’s history gains a fascinating insight into how Swedish tourism has evolved from the 1930s to the present day. Traveling to the mountains was already popular in the early 20th century, and one person who contributed to that trend was Torsten Boberg. When he opened the hotel in Trillevallen in November 1939, it was an immediate success. Today, we would say that Torsten Boberg was a marketing genius with a keen sense of timing.
